Stars on the Ground

Made using scrap materials from Indian textiles and dresses, this piece reflects the vibrancy and richness of our culture. Heavily embroidered fabrics are a familiar sight, and I wanted to capture their bling and colorfulness in a new form. By layering lace with modeling and gel paste, I played with opacity to create a textured landscape, blending fabric with acrylics.

Despite initial concerns about the gold contrasting too sharply with the greens and blues, the composition came together harmoniously. The night theme stands out against the golden tones, creating a striking interplay of light and depth.
