Have Faith in Yourself

This piece is a dedication to my past self—a reminder that better things lie ahead and that letting go is part of growth. While conceptualising a self-portrait, I sought to visually weave together the things I love, creating a reflection of who I am.

A dragonfly, symbolizing hope, soars beyond self-imposed illusions that hinder change, while my inner child clutches a bouquet—an offering to the future. Surrounding hands represent the unwavering support of my friends and family, while lanterns glow as beacons of hope.

Using acrylics, markers, and oil pastels, I experimented with composition and negative space, allowing objects to emerge and focal points to shift. This painting is both a personal narrative and an exploration of transformation, resilience, and the beauty of moving forward.
